Security & Surveillance Icon Card counters are now called “advantage players,” and comps are now called “player reinvestments.” Confidence scams are now called “social engineering techniques,” and these are any technique used to create a favorable outcome through manipulation of information. These scams or “techniques” can impact nearly every facet of today’s casino resort environment. This session examines a number of social engineering techniques that are used or can be used in the casino environment on a regular basis. Also discussed are some steps you can take to minimize your exposure to several types of fraud associated with this activity.
