Card counters are now called “advantage players,” and comps are now called “player reinvestments.” Confidence scams are now called “social engineering techniques,” and these are any technique used to create a favorable outcome through manipulation of information. These scams or “techniques” can impact nearly every facet of today’s casino resort environment. This session examines a number of social engineering techniques that are used or can be used in the casino environment on a regular basis. Also discussed are some steps you can take to minimize your exposure to several types of fraud associated with this activity.
