The 2009 Supreme Court decision, Carcieri v. Salazar, has thrown land-into-trust matters into disarray. Though the case was limited to the Narragansett tribe and Rhode Island, its implications could go much further. Experts at this session explained what the case means, who it may impact and possible “fixes” for what some tribes consider an unjust decision.
