Employment issues in Asia are as diverse as the culture. In some jurisdictions there is a labor shortage, in others a glut of potential employees. In some the government plays a huge role in the training, employment and promotion of workers. In others, operators have a more independent role in hiring and developing their workforce. Skills and needs are wide and varied, and cultural differences between some operators and employees can be a challenge. In all jurisdictions, however, the desire to build a cohesive and service-oriented workforce is the top goal.
